Ready, steady, GO

Fire burning in the chimney, rain falling hard outside. Mano is carefully twisting elastic bands to make bracelets. It's been a week or so that its the new rage, and he's really good and dedicated about it. Sometimes he spends like two hours straight doing it. And he's making lots of cool stuff. Dayna came over. I know I need to take snapshots...
Honestly, the weather is trying hard, but we're having a good time right now. Spent the afternoon at Paula's chatting away. And Mano is being like on demo mode, lovely and helpful...

Spent the week end before that on bra therapy. It's like you're down and you spend 2 hr to get bargain out of the underwear department. Scored 4. I understand you guy readers wont' get it, but nothing quite like bra therapy to get you back on track. :-)

From next Monday til Friday, I'm on managerial overdrive. One week with Obiwan Kenobi.
Yep. He's still undead. Shimmering directions. And freestlye. Now don't get me wrong, I do do freestyle. But Obiwan freestyle. Wow. I mean the guy can teach after death, what kind of training teach you that?
One day I'l be shorter, green and wise.
Wooohooo.

So back to Invercargill, with a week long schedule of meetings from 9h to 17h. We do have like 2hrs free time on Tuesday eve... And its' like to set up the next day's meeting. Don't ask me what we're going to talk about, I'm like you on Discovery channel.

So right now, ignorance is bliss.

Medieval Fayre

Spiderman was way outnumbered...
 Medieval chill attitude
Still boils down to the pretty girl

A few of these blokes explained to me difference between sword letting me weight them in me hands.
I did not know that an italian swordsman, Fiori, wrote a guide in the 1400s. The swordfighter I talked to had studied from it, also being black and brown belt in two martial arts.

Apparently the weight of the full scale armour is around 50kg...

As impressing as sword fighting gets, I do have a fondness for archery...

However, even archers bow to technology...

They had wicked tents already back then

A beautiful sunny afternoon, watching people do what they love. Maybe a step back in time. Think some of us got some out of it.

Te Manaroa Spring

This spring comes out at... 100 deg C.
Someone HAD to engineer a series of platform so people could bathe there.

First attempt to walk the Abel Tasman...

Okay, confession time. Even we got some weather to deal with on our holiday. Our last day in nelson would be best described as ... well stormy. Howling wind, strong wave. Of course that didn't stop us to board a boat and get to walk in Anchorage bay. Picnic up under the rain in the wonderful DOC hut. We walk to a deserted charming little beach. Cleansed from the sky from  every angles (yes collected sand).Don't we love it when you climb on a water taxi and the lovely shipmate (barefoot) hands out straight away "towels" (apparently safer than your usual paper bag for seasickness...). Mano really enjoyed the wave surfing of the boat. I merely decided to take a much lighter lunch. Rachel said that the captain was really being gentle on us. Of course, Captain Calm was barefeet and sipping a cup of tea, not even secured to the deck. Your regular mug.

But hey, heroic-me braved the weather and took ONE picture.
Seriously, if that's what it looks like when it's awful weather, isn't that beach straight from heaven?

Overdue

So I was supposed to take a pic of us three in the middle of paradise. Here's for you Arnaud :-)

One sunny day on the Queen Charlotte track

The Queen Charlotte Track is one of the great walk of NZ (un petit frere du GR 20). Winding around the coastline of the Marlborough Sounds.

Starting bright and early to get dropped at Resolution Bay.
This is a private property that tolerate us walking people.
The rest of the garden and the house definitely match.

Rachel in the morning sun :-)
Two of the numerous views. Amazing.
We were supposed to be finished walking round 12h30.
We reached Furneaux Bay around 15h... because we could not take our eyes of the numerous views.

 Picked up at Furneaux Bay.
Yep one can do the orange and purple ice cream. Something like choco-orange/liquorice.
Interesting melange....

Second ferry crossing for Mano (first was the Channel about 9 years ago...)
 Picton, South Island

Grove Arm of the Charlotte Sound, Marborough
